Leadership. Patriotism. Service. Its is not just our mission; it is our passion. Investing in the next generation of leaders is our legacy.

The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum was created by founders, General Tommy Franks and his wife of over fifty years, Cathryn Carley Franks as a historical foundation dedicated to telling the story of the United States military, the American soldier from WWI through present day. The 9,500 square foot museum is housed in downtown Hobart, OK and houses one of a kind artifacts from around the world, persona gifts given to the Franks from world leaders, one of only two medal of honor awards on display in Oklahoma, the world largest known collection of military challenge coins, and the largest permanent 9/11 exhibit west of the Mississippi River.

Beginning in July 2024, the General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum is proud to partner with the University of Central Oklahoma, to host Four Star Leadership with General Tommy Franks, a yearly world-class summer leadership program that supports 70 top high school leaders from all across the globe. Young leaders will work face to face with national and international leaders, learn and develop through team building exercises, spontaneous problem solving activities, persuasive speech and writing competitions as well as team ethics competitions. During the students week with us in Edmond, students tour the OKC National Memorial, visit the Oklahoma capitol to hear from lawmakers and have dinner in the capitol rotunda, visit Hobart and the General Franks museum, then the week is capped off with an awards banquet where over $40,000 in scholarships are awarded. The program, which began in 2008, has welcomed over 1,000 young leaders from 49 states as well as 61 international students.

Other programs offered by GTFLIM include the Mobile Classroom & Road Show, which is a mobile museum designed to enhance and enrich the learning experience of children and adults. It showcases a small offering of curated exhibits of world geography and stimulates cultural understanding. The roadshow travels directly to school at no cost, as well as festivals and events across the region for a small fee. Inspired Leadership Experience is an interactive workshop that combines historical facts, leadership principles, activities that provide a comprehensive view of General Franks applied leadership style to assist in the discovery of the participant’s leadership potential. This program accommodates various groups and audiences from middle school students to working professionals.

The General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum is proud of it’s partnership with UCO and looks forward to working with the community of Edmond, its businesses and citizens for years to come.
